CO2 laser skin resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure that ablates (removes) the epidermis, the outermost layer of skin cells, to reveal healthy skin below. The process is also fractional, meaning it works in columns, so it doesn’t damage surrounding tissue.
The handheld device directs short, concentrated pulses of laser light at the treatment area. The light and the heat it generates precisely remove the outer skin layers to target the blemishes housed in the dermal layer just beneath.
The heat also breaks up areas of hyperpigmentation (e.g., age spots, sun spots) and destroys worn-out collagen, one of the proteins that give skin its taut texture but which decline over time. At the same time, the light energy sparks an increase in new collagen production.

For the Ultra-light, patients generally need three treatments spaced four weeks apart. You should see immediate changes in skin tone and texture that progressively improve after each treatment.
